" Monitor where you get your advice from. Neve take financial advice from a homeless man."

" Monitor where you get your advice from. Neve take financial advice from a homeless man."
- FLO

I know that quote may sound like common sense when you first read it. So lets take it away from the financial world and put it into fitness or life. Would you take life advice from someone who is a failure?
Would you take fitness advice from someone who has never worked out a day in their life?

I hope you answer NO to both of those questions. Once again these seem like common sense answers, however common sense is not always common. There are many people giving their opinions and advice online. You must monitor who the advice is coming from. I have clients all the time tell me what they read online. They tell me all different kinds of websites that they get info from. The old saying holds true; opinions are like a$$holes, everybody has one.
So where can you get solid and legit information from?
This is a loaded question because things are always changing in health. One day its no carbs ,the next day its only certain carbs, one day its light weights for toning, the next day its heavy weights. It goes on and on and on. There is always people proving and disproving theories. The truth is you will learn everything you need to know thru experience. I know it sounds simple but it will never fail you.  The best part is it doesn't even have to be your own experience. Speak to someone who has done what you want to do and ask them how they did it. That's the person who you need to take advice from.
When I want rehab advice I call people who deal with rehab patients , when I want performance advice I ask someone who works with performance athletes. It is really that simple. If you don't personally know anyone who may have the info you need than you have to find them. Search for them online and email that person.
I am not saying there is no great website or great information online. I just want to caution you to be careful where you get your info from. Do your research and don't believe everything you read.

Are you brave enough for a COLD SHOWER?

Why I Take Cold Showers And You Should Too For the past three years I’ve taken a cold shower almost every single day. You might think I’m crazy and at first; trust me, at first I thought I was too. But hold your judgment, hear me out, give it a try and then you can thank me. What are the benefits of cold showers? 1.     Improve Mood A 2007 study looked at how cold showers affected people with depression. Here is what the authors of the study hypothesized: “Exposure to cold is known to activate the sympathetic nervous system and increase the blood level of beta-endorphin and noradrenaline and to increase synaptic release of noradrenaline in the brain as well. Additionally, due to the high density of cold receptors in the skin, a cold shower is expected to send an overwhelming amount of electrical impulses from peripheral nerve endings to the brain, which could result in an anti-depressive effect.” The study ended up finding that cold showers of 2-3...

Positive Attracts Positive

Ever hang around some negative people or in a negative environment? How did you feel during and after you had left? Did you feel drained of energy and just not happy about the situation you were currently in? Guess what.. your attitude, drive and passion effects others around you. If you create that positive energy and always surround yourself with positive, upbeat, driven people, you can only find more success in life. Being surrounded by my Flo Family along with everyone else such as Patrick Lerouge (www.revivetm.com) or Paul Newell (www.balancedwellness.org), I started to see my true potential and what I am truly capable of. They bring out the best in me because of their positive energy. They believe I can do it and push me to my limits. Even when I feel so uncomfortable with doing something, such as speaking in front of a group... they pushed me knowing that I could do it. I would have never seen myself get this far into my career without the Flo Family. I have learned so much, m...

How Steroids Almost Took My Life

The ability to move again March 12 2005, a regular Saturday afternoon at the gym; getting ready to get pumped to do a heavy chest workout. Just like everyone else, trying to follow the muscle heads that we see in our society. My workout buddy, Fred, who is going onto his 60s and happens to be a huge guy, arrives 15 minutes prior to gym closing. Working out takes control over everything. My blood is pumping, and I’m feeling great. I happen to be in the midst of having a conversation with my buddy about how much I hate hospitals; without even knowing that in less than 24 hrs, I was about to be submitted into one. Almost 3 weeks prior to that night, I was feeling “Too Skinny,” had great mobility and agility patterns with my body, was able to move and do pretty much what I had wanted to do, except for what I wanted it to be… to be big and solid like ...
